In July, first topic will be presented by Sha-Mayn Teh, Engineering Manager of Open Social  Beijing Team from Google to come to talk about Open Social. Open Social defines a common API for social applications across multiple websites. With standard JavaScript and HTML, developers can create apps that access a social network’s friends and update feeds. Before moving to Beijing, Sha-Mayn has worked on other Google projects like Google’s ads and billing systems, machine translation and web search UI in the US.

Then we will have a guest, Bastien Guerry, coming to our meeting all the way from France  to present Open Education and his experience of deployment in schools. As a free software activist, Bastien is a member of OLPC France helping OLPC deployment in Haïti.  He is now involved  in Sugar Labs and Sugar, the free learning platform.  He also helps with the boostrapping of Wiser-U, a project which aims at creating more interactions between FLOSS and the academic world.
