从2000年开始GUADEC就是欧洲GNOME社区的年度盛会，今年GUADEC 2014 将在法国的斯特拉斯堡举办，日期是7月26号到8月1号，前4天安排会议日程，后几天会有hackfest和BoF。

会议日程会集中与GNOME项目相关的题目上：

* Design of the core user experience (core applications, shell, tool kit)
* Design of the developer experience (tools, documentation, services)
* Integration and extension of the operating system plumbings into the core UX
* Application development and deployment
* Integration of web technologies into the GNOME user experience
* Improving the user experience on different form factors
* Improvide the documentation of the user experience and the applications
* Outreach to new contributors
* Organization and governance of the project

如果演讲的题目不在上述列表中，与GNOME相关的其它话题也十分欢迎。,

征集演讲者的时间：

1. 5月4号（周日） 提交演讲的截止日期。
2. 5月7号（周日）通知演讲者是否被录取
所以请在5月4号之前通过https://www.guadec.org的在线提交系统来提交你的演讲题目。

闪电演讲的题目会在5月份开始征集。

GNOME.Asia 2014 亚洲峰会招募志愿者

事件：GNOME.Asia 2014 亚洲峰会

GNOME 基金会亚洲委员会在2008年成立，旨在通过举办 GNOME.Asia 亚洲峰会在亚洲地区推广 GNOME项目，推广自由开源软件的理念。成立六年来，分别在中国北京、越南胡志明、中国台北、印度班加罗尔、中国香港和韩国首尔举办了六届GNOME.Asia 亚洲峰会，GNOME.Asia 峰会与 GUADEC (GNOME Users And Developers European Conference) 和 Boston 峰会一起成为了 GNOME 基金会每年的三大活动之一。

GNOME was accepted for GSoC and we are organizing OPW! \\o//

Thanks to so many mentors who’ve already listed project ideas. It’s not too late to add more coding ideas, which are shared between GSoC and OPW [1]. Also, please add your non-coding ideas for OPW [2].

In the next 3 weeks, prospective applicants are asked to work with mentors on making relevant contributions and putting together a project proposal [3] [4].

Everyone, please help us spread the word about both opportunities by encouraging people personally to apply, posting on social networks, sending the information to the university departments and technology groups, and posting the flyers on university campuses or handing them out at conferences. Sample e-mail, sample social network updates, and flyers are available on the spread the word page [5].
